Dragon’s Den / Turning up in the den

Not all of the challenges we take on are marketing-flavoured…

In 2015 we pitched concepts for a new title sequence for BBC’s Dragons’ Den. Our winning idea placed the Dragons in an epic, exciting landscape that metaphorically represents the Den: a hostile open vista of cracked earth and lava, where the heat is on and there’s nowhere to hide from the Dragons’ unflinching, fiery gaze…

Working with the considerable VFX talents of Space Digital we brought the idea to life in a studio in Salford Quays. The Dragons themselves were cheerful and endlessly patient as they stalked predatorially across the green screen over and over again. Don’t believe a word of it. They’re pussycats…

“I think it’s safe to say we were all very impressed – it was a massive step forward from what we had.“
